- The eye retrieval procedure takes only 15 to 20 minutes.
- Eye donation does not cause any disfigurement to the donor’s face, and funeral arrangements are not delayed.
- Family members should gently close the donor’s eyes and place a clean, moist cotton cloth over them to help preserve the cornea until the Eye Bank team arrives.
